If we're truly to deliver the investment our town needs, then we need someone who will go to Westminster and bang on the doors of Ministers to secure that funding. Since being elected as Mansfield's MP, I've secured £72 million in Levelling Up funding for key projects across our town, and I'm now working with Mansfield District Council to ensure they get plans drawn up, and spades in the ground.

The £60 million of Levelling Up funding has been a gamechanger for our area, we've never been able to secure so much funding in one go and it's going to make a massive difference for our town. The funding is broken up into 3 parts:
- £20m to transform the old Beales building at Stockwell Gate into a hub for education, healthcare, jobs and bringing key local services currently scattered across the constituency into the heart of town. There will be new opportunities for retail and other small businesses to expand here too, bringing much needed footfall back to this part of town.
- £20m of Levelling Up Partnership money to begin some major projects in some of our most disadvantaged areas.
- Just over £11 million is intended to improve housing quality and regenerate some of Mansfield’s poorest estates, including £3.2 million for a new youth hub near Bellamy Road, which will help divert young people away from crime and anti-social behaviour;
- £300,000 to implement South Mansfield Family Hubs, which will boost the childrens and family services available;
- And £250,000 to extend a school readiness programme run by Nottingham Trent University, which has been successfully trialled in Oak Tree and is making a real difference to the lives of pre-school children.
- The bulk of this funding though is a massive £7.4 million, has been allocated to remodel Bellamy and Oak Tree estates, improving housing quality and access to local services.
- As part of that Levelling Up Partnership announcement, £2 million has now been secured to improve the Sainsbury's Junction after a three-year mission to try and source funding to improve this part of the A60.I first secured funding for this back in 2020, just days before the pandemic set in and all funds were pulled and diverted to protecting lives. Since then, I’ve been in Parliament talking to Ministers and banging on about this section of road and the significant impact it has to the daily lives of so many people across Mansfield.
- The final £20m of is spread over ten years and aims to allow us to tackle the real long-term challenges we’re facing, so we’re working with Government to find the best and most effective uses of that money. As Mansfield’s MP I’m ecstatic that banging on Ministers doors has brought so much funding our way in 2023.

Our £12m Towns Fund has delivered Warsop's brand new Leisure Hub, which opens in June. It's a state of the art health facility with a swimming pool, gym, community space and cafe and is a major step forward in helping to improve people's wellbeing across our town.
Alongside this our Towns Fund is also delivering much needed accessibility to our town centre, helping to ease congestion and improve footfall with more parking being delivered over the next year.

Working in partnership with Severn Trent our town has trialled a £76m flood alleviation project that aimed to implement thousands of interventions across our town. The aim of this was to avoid a repeat of the major flooding we've experienced particularly towards the end of 2023. Whilst the project has had some success, with it being a trial there's clearly been room to improve, and whilst the 'rain garden' element of the trial will be ending due to feedback from residents I'll continue to bring in new investment to ensure Mansfield is increasingly resilient to flooding.
